De Iraanse president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad heeft het voorstel van regisseur Oliver Stone (Platoon, JFK, Nixon) om een documentaire over hem te maken afgeslagen. Stone is namelijk Amerikaans en daarom per definitie duivels, aldus een adviseur van de president. "It is right that this person is considered part of the opposition in the U.S., but opposition in the U.S. is a part of the Great Satan."

De regisseur betreurt de afwijzing, en wenst het Iraanse volk veel succes met hun Roerganger. "I have been called a lot of things, but never a great Satan. I wish the Iranian people well and only hope their experience with an inept, rigid ideologue president goes better than ours."
