In Focus magazine sprak met regisseur Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot, Airforce One, Troy) en deze bevestigde dat zowel een Superman-film als, jawel, Batman vs. Superman in de planning liggen. De reden om de twee helden in 1 film te stoppen ligt volgens de Duitse regisseur in het feit dat het tegenovergestelde karakters zijn, die we toch beide in ons hebben....dus....
