Scream 4 draait nog niet in de bioscoop of de verhalen over een vijfde deel duiken alweer op. Op zich niet heel vreemd, aangezien al een tijdje wordt beweerd dat er na de eerste trilogie ons een nieuwe tweede trilogie te wachten staat. Shock Till You Drop meldt echter dat Dimension Films nog steeds een "vacature" heeft voor de rol van scriptschrijver voor Scream 5. Misschien wachten ze nog even het succes af van het vierde deel.

Ook blijkt dat Scre4m niet helemaal een "Wes Craven" film is. In een interview met Total Magazine zegt de bekende horror-regisseur het volgende: "In some ways it's a Wes Craven film, and in way it's not entirely, because it's not a script I have control of. It's ultimately controlled by what the studio wants in the script. My job is much more bringing whatever experience and expertise and creativity I can. Look, there was a bumpy period when things shifted over from Kevin to Ehren. I signed up to do a script by Kevin and unfortunately that didn’t go all the way through the shooting. But it certainly is Kevin’s script and concept and ideas and themes."

Scream 4 met o.a. Neve Campbell (als Sidney Prescott), David Arquette (Sheriff Dewey Riley) en Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers-Riley) gaat vanaf 14 april in de Nederlandse bioscoop draaien. Hieronder de trailer:
