Met nog een paar dagen te gaan tot de bioscooprelease van de film, zijn vandaag de eerste reacties op de film verschenen. Die laten zien dat de film enorm amusant wordt en verschillende elementen bij elkaar weet te brengen om het zombiegenre op z'n kop te zetten.
Sterke opening
Vooral het begin van de film wordt als bijzonder sterk ontvangen lijkt het. Maar niet iedereen is helemaal overtuigd van de film van Snyder. Check hier de reacties:

Scary, action-packed & fun!
A wildly entertaining firepower zombie flick that features some of the best death scenes ever!
Its zombie mythology is fresh and different, yet the whole thing feels closer to Romero territory than anything since Romero left us, with just enough pop commentary to recall the social-minded classics of the genre. #ArmyOfTheDead

#ArmyOfTheDead is Snyder's best since Watchmen. His efforts to keep visuals interesting (he's his own DP for this one) plays well with the "big dumb fun" energy that holds throughout, with the added bonus of a few characters playing better than they are written due to the cast.

Army of the Dead speelt zich af in de toekomst, als uit Area 51 's werelds eerste zombie ontsnapt is. Die heeft in Las Vegas een heleboel andere mensen gebeten en tot zombie veranderd. De stad is in allerijl verlaten, waardoor in de kluis van een van de casino's nog miljoenen dollars liggen.
Een team van huurlingen wordt in de film ingeschakeld om die miljoenen te halen, en dat te doen voordat het Amerikaanse leger een kernbom op de stad gooit om af te rekenen met de zombieplaag. Maar niets is wat het lijkt, want de zombies blijken een samenleving gebouwd te hebben, waarbij sommigen van hen na kunnen denken.
