In Greys Anatomy staat hij bekend als McDreamy, maar in het echt mag hij gerust McGenerous genoemd worden. Patrick Dempsey heeft besloten een koffieketen in Seattle, genaamd Tully's Coffee, van de ondergang te redden.

De acteur heeft daartoe besloten omdat hij de stad wil steunen. Daarmee redt hij meteen een kleine vijfhonderd banen. “I’m excited about the opportunity to save hundreds of jobs, give back to Seattle and become a larger part of the economic growth and fabric of the community."

“I’ve always loved this city, and with the purchase of Tully’s Coffee, I plan to spend a lot of time in Seattle and at the stores connecting with the community and growing the Tully’s brand.

De acteur zegt minstens vijfhonderd banen in Seattle te willen redden. Buiten Seattle heeft de concurrent van Starbucks nog meer vestigingen, in onder anderen Washington en California. In totaal zijn er zo'n 105 vestigingen buiten Seattle.

Overigens is de deal nog niet helemaal rond. Een rechter moet 11 januari beslissen of hij door mag gaan.
