Fans vinden die vergelijking waardeloos. Shmi's besluit om Anakin met de Jedi te laten trainen was een nobel besluit vinden zij. De keuze van Rey's moeder om haar te verkopen aan Unkar Plutt, veroordeelde haar dochter in principe tot slavernij.
