Het vierde vervolg op het origineel van Wes Craven is ondertussen opgenomen. Spyglass Media Group en Paramount Pictures hebben online onthuld dat de film simpelweg de titel Scream krijgt.

Simpelweg Scream
Hiermee lijkt de franchise het voorbeeld van Halloween uit 2018 te volgen. Ook deze film had dezelfde titel als het origineel en waarschijnlijk is de vijfde film dan ook een "nieuw begin". Uitvoerend producent Kevin Williamson bevestigde via Twitter, met enkele setfoto's:
