Hij was onder andere verantwoordelijk voor de digitale tentakel-baard die acteur Bill Nighy (als Davy Jones) draagt, en voor 'Kraken', het enorme zeemonster dat de hoofdrolspelers belaagt.

How do you prepare to bring something like the Kraken to life? Is it just a matter of studying sea creatures like squids and octopi and recreating their movements?
"Well, there was an extensive animatic that Gore did with a good group of pre-vis artists to work out the actions that he wanted for all the tentacles of the Kraken, then as we took that and ran with it, there was a lot of studying of footage of squids and octopi to kind of see really how a tentacle wraps around something. I know that informed a lot of the motion that the animators were putting it through. But there really is only so much you can get, because you don't see a lot of tentacles out of water. The kinds of big waving, smashing motions are not really something that there's any reference for, so that has to be animated to feel right."
