Het coronavirus, oftewel COVID-19, heeft al vele tienduizenden slachtoffers geëist en daaronder zitten ook enkele bekende namen. Nu is bekend geworden dat Acteur Jay Benedict is overleden.

Zijn overlijden is bevestigd door zijn vertegenwoordiger TCG Artist Management. De acteur ken je mogelijk van zijn rol als Newts vader Russ in James Camerons Aliens (Special Edition) en hij was kort te zien als een "rich twit" in Christopher Nolans The Dark Knight Rises.

Veel Britse producties
Ondanks dat Benedict geboren is in de States, was hij in veel Britse producties te zien. Zo had hij rollen in de series Foyle's War en Rosamunde Pilcher. Benedict werd 68 jaar en was getrouwd met actrice Phoebe Scholfield, bekend uit de serie Allo! Allo!
