Een paar weken terug hoorden we dat MGM een rechtszaak zou aanspannen tegen Jake LaMotta en de producenten van Raging Bull II. Hoewel het in eerste instantie de bedoeling was dat de film nooit uit zou komen, heeft de studio nu vrede met een tussenoplossing. Martin Guigui's film, met William Forsythe in de hoofdrol, heet vanaf nu The Bronx Bull en wordt niet langer geassocieerd met Scorsese's boksklassieker uit 1980.

MGM geeft het volgende commentaar betreffende de kwestie:

The parties have amicably reached a resolution of their pending litigation, pursuant to which production of a film based upon certain events in the life of Jake LaMotta will proceed under the working title The Bronx Bull. That film is not related in any way to the 1980 motion picture entitled Raging Bull, and MGM is not associated with the film in any respect. Neither party will have any further statements regarding this matter.

Hoewel de film dus nog steeds gaat over Jake LaMotta na de gebeurtenissen in Martin Scorsese's Raging Bull (1980), gaat MGM ervan uit dat de nieuwe titel en de verdwenen associaties voldoende zijn. The Bronx Bull komt ergens volgend jaar uit.
