Robert Downey Jr. zal er wellicht een stuk groter uitzien in Iron Man 3. Volgens Us Weekly heeft Downey's stylist schoenen met ingebouwde hiellifts van 7,5 cm voor hem besteld. Downey Jr. meet normaal 173 cm, maar in Iron Man 3 zal zijn lengte dus opgekrikt worden tot zo'n 180 cm. Een insider zegt daarover het volgende:
"They're working on a special pair just for him. The lift insole needs to be concealed in a high top shoe or boot. The highest that's offered the general public is 2 inches."
In een interview met Men's Fitness magazine gaf Robert Downey Jr. onlangs nog toe dat hij verrast was toen hij enkele jaren geleden gecast werd voor de eerste Iron Man. Hij zei toen het volgende:
"I guess I had some notion about it. Ive always really enjoyed that genre, but I mean, its pretty outlandish. Im not particularly tall or strong or fast or aggressive. Yet, Im not faking it. To me, its a cosmic chuckle."
