Collider sprak onlangs met Don Cheadle over zowel Iron Man 3 als The Avengers. De acteur was in Iron Man 2 te zien als Col. James Rhodey Rhodes, ook wel War Machine. Toen hem werd gevraagd in welke toekomstige Marvel films hij te zien zal zijn, antwoordde Cheadle als volgt:
Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We'll probably do that again in February and there's talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.
Krijgen we Cheadle te zien in Joss Whedons The Avengers?
Not this one that they're shooting right now. Thank god!
Me being in The Avengers? I have a contract to be in The Avengers but I'm glad they haven't exercised that option yet. I need some down time.
Iron Man 3 staat gepland voor 3 mei 2013. Shane Black zal gaan regisseren, terwijl Robert Downey Jr. terugkeert voor de rol van Tony Stark/Iron Man. The Avengers staat precies een jaar eerder gepland, namelijk op 3 mei 2012.
