Simon West, regisseur van het binnenkort te verschijnen The Mechanic, kijkt alweer voorruit naar zijn volgende project Medallion. Hierin zal hij opnieuw gaan samenwerken met Nicolas Cage, waarmee hij zijn eerste grote succes als regisseur vierde middels de film Con Air. Tegenover CraveOnline gaf West vandaag te kennen dat hij die hernieuwde samenwerking met Cage eigenlijk wel gelijk wil gaan doorzetten richting Con Air 2.
"I'd like to do... 'Con Air 2. It'd be great," West continues, "It's a matter of getting everybody together. There's so many people involved and it's about getting everybody to agree. But I'm going to bring it up to Nic. I'm going to put a bug in his ear about it. If the two of us want to do it, we'll go after the others."
Con Air uit 1997 bestond uit een boorlijke sterrencast. Naast Cage speelden o.a John Cusack, John Malkovich, Steve Buscemi, Ving Rhames en Danny Trejo een rol in de actie-thriller.
