Het is echt waar...er komt een vervolg op Titanic onze kant op. The Asylum, de direct-to-dvd productiemaatschappij bij uitstek, heeft onlangs de productie afgerond van Titanic 2. Om even een beetje een beeld te geven van wat we kunnen verwachten: The Asylum is verantwoorelijk voor o.a. The Terminators, Street Racer , Sunday School Musical , Transmorphers, Transmorphers 2: Fall of Man, Snakes on a Train, I Am Omega, Da Vinci Treasure, Temple of the Skulls, HG Wells’ War of the Worlds, AVH: Alien vs. Hunter, Monster (een Cloverfield rip-off) en Pirates of Treasure Island.

Het officiële synopsis van Titanic 2:

On the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, a modern luxury liner christened “Titanic 2,” follows the path of its namesake. But when a tsunami hurls an ice berg into the new ship’s path, the passengers and crew must fight to avoid a similar fate.

De film wordt geregisseerd door Shane Van Dyke en er zijn rollen voor Bruce Davison, Brooke Burns, Shane Van Dyke en Marie Westbrook. De Amerikaanse release van de DVD is op 24 augustus; over de Nederlandse release weten we (gelukkig) nog niets...
