The Incredible Hulk regisseur Louis Leterrier heeft al vaker aangegeven dat hij dolgraag The Avengers wil regisseren. Onlangs maakte hij zelf bekend dat hij op een shortlist staat van Marvel Studios voor de regie van de langverwachte superheldenfilm met een team-up van de helden Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk en mogelijk enkele andere helden en villains. Nu blijkt zelfs dat hij al flink aan het nadenken is over hoe hij het Avengers-team gaat vormen.

MTV News sprak Leterrier tijdens een interview over zijn laatste film Clash of the Titans: "It all starts with the ensemble... the cast. It's all about the cast. It's all about the characters. You have to find the way to enter the movie through the cast. With 'Avengers' it would be a little different, because a lot of the cast would have been casted by different directors from other movies, but you can still bring everybody together. That's what we did that was great on 'Clash of the Titans' — for the first three weeks, we brought everybody into a room and we workshopped the movie."

The Avengers moet in 2012 in de bioscoop te zien zijn.
