The Adam Project is geregisseerd door Shawn Levy, die herenigd is met Ryan Reynolds voor de film.
We volgen Reynolds personage, Adam, die terug in de tijd gaat naar het huis waar hij opgroeide. Hij komt daar een jongere versie van zichzelf tegen. De twee Adam's ontdekken een samenzwering rond hun vader, die onder mysterieuze omstandigheden verdwenen is. Maar hun gedeelde verleden en mogelijke toekomst blijkt nog behoorlijk complex!
