De eerste sceenings hebben plaatsgevonden voor onder meer de critici. Dit heeft het gevolg dat de eerste reacties op Twitter zijn verschenen. Deze zijn doorgaans zeer positief en Old wordt zelfs de beste film van Shyamalan sinds Unbreakable uit 2000 genoemd.

Opvallend is dat Old slechts één ster krijgt van FilmTotaal-recensent Arjan Welles.
