Zoals gebruikelijk worden aan de vooravond van de Oscars eerst nog de winnaars van de Raspberry Awards bekendgemaakt. De awards werden in 1980 opgezet door John Wilson als tegenhanger van de Oscars en worden jaarlijks uitgereikt aan de slechtste filmprestaties van het afgelopen jaar.

De stemmen van de 26e editie zijn dus inmiddels geteld, en als slechtste film kwam uit de bus: Dirty Love. De regisseur daarvan, John Asher, mag zich daarbij ook op feestjes aankondigen als slechtste regisseur van 2005 en Jenny McCarthy werd met haar rol in diezelfde film de slechtste actrice. Rob Schneider werd met zijn prestaties in Deuce Bigalow 2 onderscheiden als slechtste acteur.
