Bleek eerder vandaag al dat Birdman met vier nominaties de grootste kanshebber is voor de SAG Awards, nu valt te zien dat de film van regisseur Alejandro González Iñárritu ook de grootste kanshebber is bij de Golden Globes. Bij die uitreiking – eveneens een graadmeter voor de Oscars – maakt de film kans op een beeldje in zeven categorieën.

Castleden Michael Keaton, Emma Stone en Edward Norton mogen allemaal meedingen naar een prijs. Verder is ook regisseur Iñárritu genomineerd voor de prijs voor de beste regisseur. Ook het scenario en de muziek van de film zijn genomineerd voor een prijs.
