De nominaties voor de Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, die gelden als één van de graadmeters voor de Oscars, zijn bekend gemaakt. Boyhood en Birdman blijken de grootste kanshebbers te zijn. Birdman is viermaal genomineerd en Boyhood mag meedingen naar drie prijzen.

Voor Birdman maakt Michael Keaton kans op de prijs voor de beste mannelijke hoofdrol en Edward Norton voor de beste mannelijke bijrol. Dan is er nog Emma Stone, die kan winnen in de categorie voor de beste vrouwelijke bijrol. De film is verder ook genomineerd voor het beste ensemble.

Ook Boyhood mag meedingen naar die award en verder ook nog voor bijrollen van Ethan Hawke en Patricia Arquette. Andere films waarvan het ensemble genomineerd is zijn The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game en The Theory of Everything.

De prijzen worden op 25 januari uitgereikt.
