Aaron Johnson gaf ik de keiharde superheldenfilm Kick-Ass van regisseur Matthew Vaughn gestalte aan de titelheld. De acteur ging onlangs tegenover Collider in op het aanstaande tweede deel, die keer geregisseerd door Jeff Wadlow, die binnenkort in productie moet gaan. Johnson bevestigde dat Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall even zo hard (rated R) moet gaan worden en dat Chloë Grace Moretz en Christopher Mintz-Plasse al aan boord zijn:
"Oh, yeah! It keeps the standard, from the first film. I think now Chloe and Chris are on board. Im certainly set up to do it. Jeff Wadlow is to direct."
Ook ging hij kort in op het succes van de eerste film, die wereldwijd een kleine $100 miljoen verzamelde bij een budget van $30 miljoen:
"Yeah, and I think thats why Matthew Vaughn has got his name all over this one, as well. The only way he was ever going to make a sequel was if it could be anywhere close to the first one, and keep that class and that quality, and just maintain something original and new and refreshing. And this script delivers all of that, right now. Im excited to get back in the suit."
