Naar aanleiding van de aankomende release van Abduction had ComingSoon.net een gesprek met actrice Sigourney Weaver. In het interview gaf ze ook korte updates over de blockbuster-sequels Avatar 2 en Ghostbusters 3.

Over Avatar 2 zei Weaver het volgende: "Don't worry, I will be back. Jim [Cameron] says no one ever dies in science fiction. He's told me the stories for the next two movies and I have to say that they're absolutely wonderful and there's a real treat in store. Now we just have to make them."

Hoewel er nog geen specifieke startdatum is, bevestigde Weaver de eerdere berichten dat Avatar 2 en 3 in de loop van volgend jaar back-to-back zullen opgenomen worden.

De toekomst van Ghostbusters 3 is minder zeker. Hoewel Dan Aykroyd recent aangaf dat het project begin 2012 wordt heropgestart, zegt Weaver dat het al een hele tijd geleden is dat ze nog met de makers over haar terugkeer als Dana Barrett heeft gesproken.

Weaver: "I have yet to read the script. I've had a couple of calls and I know they're rewriting and all I said was that I hope my son, Oscar, has grown up to be a Ghostbuster and Ivan Reitman said yes. Beyond that, I have no idea. I hope it comes together, but we already did two wonderful films and, if we have to let this one go, that's fine."
