Michael Bay sprak met enkele journalisten over Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Hieronder vind je de nieuwtjes die hier uit voort zijn gekomen.
Allereerst werkt Carly, het personage van Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, bij de Engelse ambassade in Washington D.C. als een assistent. Ze ontmoet Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) vlak nadat hij gedumpt is door Mikaela Banes (het personage van de reeds vertrokken Megan Fox). Sam en Carly wonen inmiddels samen; zij betaalt de huur en hij is op zoek naar een baan.
Bay bespreekt het verschil tussen Transformers 3 en Transformers 2.
On the second movie we got burned. We had a writers strike, we had to agree on a story in three weeks, and then we knew they were going on strike. It was a fucked scenario all the way around, it wasnt fair to the writer, it wasnt fair to me, it wasnt fair to anybody. It was still an entertaining movie, but I think we failed on certain aspects. What we did with this movie is I think we have a much better script, and we got back to basics. I think theres some really cool action on this movie, theres some very cool conspiracy, theres great robot stuff in this that people were missing in the second one, youve got great robot conflict. So Im excited about this movie. Its more serious. I got rid of the dorky comedy, I mean weve got two little characters, thats it, but the dorkiness is not there. Dork-free Transformers. Its much more serious. Its still entertaining, its big looking. I think its much more compelling, what we did, how we funneled our action, what weve got our characters doing, theyve got a lot more to do.

I think this has gotta be it. I think someone else will take the torch from here. Theres a couple of things that are left open. I think youll see some finality to this, you know weve made it very clear that when things die they die now. Theyre not magically being brought back. The nice thing about Transformers is that youve got so many stories to tell, youve got Cybertron. Its just that I dont think you could do it again with Shia and everybody, I think its time to move on.
