Een interessant bericht op SlashFilm, over een aantal sequels die we de komende tijd kunnen verwachten. Natuurlijk zijn er al de geplande sequels op films, maar deze kunnen we dus aan het lijstje toevoegen. Het betreft in elk geval vervolgen op de films Robin Hood (de versie van Ridley Scott), Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs en Mulholland Drive.

Ridley Scott had tijdens een interview met de Times Online het volgende te zeggen over diens film, die nog uit moet komen. “It is the beginnings of how the man becomes known as Robin the Hood…You don’t really get that until the last few minutes. When you realize that ‘Ah, this is who he is’. Let’s say we might presume there’s a sequel. If there were to be a sequel to Robin Hood, you would have a constant enemy throughout, King John, and you would follow his reign of 17 years, and the signing of Magna Carta could be Robin’s final act.”

Robin Hood draait vanaf 13 mei in de Nederlandse bioscopen.

Van Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs werd verteld dat het vervolg al in productie is. De regisseurs Phil Lord en Chris Miller zouden al aangetrokken zijn voor het vervolg, en als basis zou het boek Pickles to Pittsburgh gebruikt worden. Dat boek vormt een direct vervolg op Cloudy. Er is dus op zich wel hoop voor deze sequel.
