Marcus Nispel is druk bezig met zijn nieuwe Conan film. De opnames beginnen al over twee maanden, dus het wordt stilaan tijd dat ze een opvolger vinden voor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Deze zoektocht verloopt echter niet al te soepel; de opnames hadden eigenlijk al in augustus 2009 moeten beginnen.
De producers hebben op het moment 3 acteurs in gedachten voor de rol. Enkel twee daarvan zijn bekend. Allereerst gaat het om Kellan Lutz, die bekend is uit de Twilight films. De andere mogelijke Conan is Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis). Er schijnt ook nog een derde gegadigde te zijn, waarvan de naam op het moment onbekend is. Volgens Deadline Hollywood gaat het om another unnamed but better established actor.
