Centurion is een historische thriller onder regie van Neil Marshall over het legendarische Negende Legioen van de Romeinen. De cast bestaat o.a. uit Dominic West, Michael Fassbender en Olga Kurylenko. Het verhaal speelt zich af in Groot Brittanië rond het jaar 117. Het Negende Legioen trekt ten strijde om de Picts te onderwerpen aan het Romeinse gezag.
Hoofdrolspeler Michael Fassbender had nog het volgende over de film te zeggen:
"There's certainly a lot of head-chopping. I guess you can always make modern-day parallels, to the occupation of Iraq. But it's the idea of someone who believes in an ethos, becomes disillusioned and comes to his own sort of beliefs. So there are parallels, and it's interesting when you take it out of our timeframe and stick it back 2,000 years."
Een Nederlandse release is nog onbekend.
