Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) heeft een rol in Clash of the Titans van Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk). De film is een 'reimagining' van de gelijknamige mythologische spektakelfilm uit 1981. Een belangrijke bijdrage aan die film werd geleverd door special-effects-expert Ray Harryhausen.
Arterton zal te zien zijn als Io, een rol die niet in de oorspronkelijke film zit en ook ontbreekt in de mythe van Perseus, waarop deze is gebaseerd. Volgens haar is dat niet het enige verschil met de eerste film. "The script is very different (...) Obviously the story is the story, but its much more about Perseus mission, and how he deals with being the son of Zeus, and things like that, so it feels a little more about him, and about the issues around that."
Perseus zal gespeeld worden door Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation). Geruchten gaan dat Liam Neeson is benaderd voor de rol van Zeus. Wie Andromeda, Perseus' geliefde, zal spelen, is nog niet bekend. De film staat gepland voor maart 2010.
