De Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences heeft afgelopen nacht de winnaars van de Oscars van 2023 bekendgemaakt. FilmTotaal zet de winnaars op een rijtje.

Het is dit jaar een belangrijk jaar: Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is de eerste film met een cast van voornamelijk mensen met Zuid-Aziatische afkomst die de Oscar voor Beste film binnensleept. Van de elf nominaties die de film kreeg wist hij er ook nog eens zeven te verzilveren, waaronder de prijs voor beste regie.

Daarnaast wonnen - net als bij de SAG Awards - drie acteurs een award: Michelle Yeoh voor beste actrice, Ke Huy Quan voor de beste mannelijke bijrol en Jamie Lee Curtis voor beste vrouwelijke bijrol.



Ook een winnaar
Natuurlijk zijn alle winnaars een grote winnaar op deze avond, maar naast EEAAO is er nog een hele grote winnaar: All Quiet on the Western Front pakt vier awards van de negen waarvoor de film genomineerd was. The Whale viel twee keer in de prijzen: Naast make up won ook Brendan Fraser zijn award.
