Leo is zestien. Hij is een wildebras en deelt alles in het leven in kleuren in. Wit is alles dat hij niet leuk vindt: school, leraren, stilte, angst. Rood is alles waar hij van houdt: de muziek op zijn iPod, zijn favoriete voetbalclub, het bloed in zijn aderen en het haar van Beatrice. Zij is het mooiste meisje op school en Leo bewondert haar van een afstand en droomt over haar. Zij heeft echter leukemie.
