Vanavond is de 68e editie van de British Academy Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA's). De presentatie ligt voor de 10e keer in handen van Stephen Fry. The Grand Budapest Hotel van regisseur Wes Anderson is favoriet en sleepte maar liefst elf(!) nominaties in de wacht; een unicum in de geschiedenis van de BAFTA's. 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' sleepte vanavond de meeste (5) BAFTA's in de wacht. Ondanks het feit dat er meer BAFTA's werden gewonnen door 'The Grand Budapest Hotel', kan er gesteld worden dat 'Boyhood' vanavond als grote winnaar uit de bus is gekomen. Linklater's film won namelijk 3 belangrijke awards (Best Film, Director en Supporting Actress) en is daarmee de 'lachende derde'.
