Acteur Hugh Laurie, die Mr. Little speelde in beide Stuart Little-films, is gestrikt om een rol te spelen in een remake van The Flight of the Phoenix uit 1965. De thriller speelt zich af rond een vliegtuig dat neerstort in de woestijn van Mongolië.

Laurie zal een zakenman spelen die totaal hysterisch wordt als het vliegtuig verongelukt. Ook Dennis Quaid, Giovanni Ribisi, Tyrese, Miranda Otto, Tony Curran, Scott Michael Campbell en Jared Padalecki zullen in de prent te zien zijn. John Davis, Bill Aldrich en Alex Blum nemen de productie voor hun rekening.

Hugh Laurie werd in Engeland bekend als helft van het komische duo Fry & Laurie met Stephen Fry. De Brit was verder te zien in Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, Spooks, Maybe Baby en The Man in the Iron Mask.
